Emphasizing the reading ability of the students, the school bridges the disciplines with reading activities to develop their reading habit.

In the weekly Monday morning reading session, both teachers and students read quietly. Friday mornings are English reading time, during which the student read English magazines or books suitable for their grade level.

To foster a reading culture during the whole month, the Reading Festival is held annually in April, during which the school offers many reading activities, such as Reading Nature (students acquire knowledge of natural plants and food and farming in the scouting class; look at the plants with one’s own eyes and read related materials through QR Code), Adventure in Books (students participate in an escape room game with mathematic quizzes and graphic questions in the Chinese library ), Book Day (in which second-hand books from teachers and students are collected in order to encourage book exchanges among them), and Book Fairs.

The school has two libraries: Chinese Library that collects Chinese books, and English Library that collects English books. Activities are irregularly launched to encourage the students to borrow books from the libraries.
